Terms of Service

A Letter for You is a monthly letter subscription program operated by AK-GAL DESIGNS, located in North Pole, Alaska. When you subscribe, a letter written by Sadie — the literary voice of this program — is mailed to the recipient you designate, on a regular monthly schedule.

By subscribing or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them before purchasing. You must be at least 18 years old to subscribe or make a purchase. By subscribing, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

We offer monthly and annual subscription plans at the rates listed on our website at the time of purchase. Plan details, including the number of letters per month and any included add-ons such as birthday cards, are described on the pricing page.

Annual plans are billed once per year and offer a savings compared to paying month-to-month.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By providing payment information and completing a purchase, you authorize us to charge the applicable subscription fee at the start of each billing period.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. For monthly subscriptions, your payment method will be charged on the same date each month. For annual subscriptions, we will send a reminder email to the address on file at least 30 days before your renewal date so you have time to review or cancel before being charged.

Prices are listed in US dollars. We reserve the right to change pricing. If we increase the price of your plan, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance and your subscription will not renew at the new price without your affirmative consent.

You may cancel your subscription at any time by emailing subscribe@akgaldesigns.com with the subject line "Cancel Subscription" and your name and email address. We will confirm cancellation within 2 business days. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — you will continue to receive letters through the end of the period you have already paid for.

We do not offer prorated refunds for unused time within a billing period. Once your subscription ends, letters will stop being mailed. If you choose to resubscribe later, the program will resume from that point forward.

Because our service involves the physical preparation and mailing of letters, we are unable to offer refunds once a mailing cycle has begun for a given period.

If there is an error on our part — for example, letters sent to the wrong address due to information we entered incorrectly — we will make it right. Please contact us within 30 days and we will work with you on a resolution.

Letters are mailed via USPS First Class Mail. Delivery times depend on the postal service and the recipient's location within Alaska. We are not responsible for delays, losses, or damage caused by the postal service.

Each standard subscription includes two letters per month. Birthday cards are sent at the start of the recipient's birth month. We ask that you provide the recipient's birthday at the time of subscription so we can plan accordingly.

Letters include a postage-paid return envelope so the recipient may write back at their convenience. We cannot guarantee that replies will be sent or received.

You are responsible for providing accurate recipient information, including the full mailing address. If the recipient moves, please notify us promptly at subscribe@akgaldesigns.com so we can update our records before the next mailing.

Letters are addressed to the individual recipient. Please ensure the recipient is comfortable receiving personal mail before subscribing on their behalf.

Nominations submitted through the Sponsored Subscriptions form are requests for complimentary subscriptions funded by donors and foundation partners. Submission of a nomination does not guarantee approval.

Approved sponsored subscriptions are provided at no cost to the recipient's family or facility and may be discontinued if funding is no longer available.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the program at any time. If we make a significant change that affects active subscriptions, we will notify you by email and provide a prorated refund for any prepaid period not fulfilled.

All content on this website — including the letters, the Sadie persona, copy, images, and design — is the intellectual property of AK-GAL DESIGNS. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any portion of it without written permission.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranty regarding the quality, accuracy, or completeness of any content on the website.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AK-GAL DESIGNS is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the three months immediately prior to the claim.

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, postal service disruptions, pandemics, utility failures, or acts of government. In such cases, we will notify you and resume service as soon as reasonably practicable.

By providing your email address and subscribing to the service, you consent to receive transactional communications from us electronically, including subscription confirmations, receipts, renewal reminders, and service notices. These communications fulfill any legal requirement that notices be provided in writing.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AK-GAL DESIGNS regarding the service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a notice on this page at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
